UBC Quidditch was originally founded in the year 2010 as an official AMS Club through which it still continues to operate to this day. Named the University of British Columbia Quidditch Club Thunderbirds (UBCQC), our organization has grown exponentially from members duct-taping hoops onto the grass into the renowned quidditch establishment we are known as today.

Fielding an A and B team, UBC Quidditch became the sole Canadian-based quidditch team officially competing within the US Quidditch League. Players traversed across western American states, recognizing their selves as strong competitors and earning a seat in the US National Tournaments.

2016 became a year of tremendous change. UBC Quidditch underwent significant reorganization, restructuring one of their teams to become a member of the UBC Thunderbirds Sports Clubs (TSC), realizing university recognition and support. The year also marked the official return of UBC Quidditch to Canada, departing from US Quidditch and earning membership into Quidditch Canada.

UBC Quidditch held a dominant presence in this past 2017 season. Players new and old showcased their many talents, helping UBCQC and TSC to clinch two podium spots in the Western Canada championship series. Our organization found significant growth and is proud to have members across nearly a dozen countries all around the world.
